!!!NARBERTH FUNDRAISER GIG!!!

This was the biggest fund raising gig that the youthfest committee had run in aid of this year’s southwest youthfest, and it showed! Featuring several local bands including big hitters Supergene and Persona B, the night was set to be a good one.

Youngsters Debut kick started the night with their up-tempo stance on heavy metal, performing a mixture of their own material and cover songs, notably Slipknot’s ‘Duality’ and a well received rendition of the Christmas no. 1, ‘Killing in the Name’. A fitting start to the night, these guys look set to only become bigger in the near future

Next up were heavy rock heavyweights, Hate Gauge. Their throwback attitude and no holds barred playing drove the crowd into an excited state of horned hands and head banging. The audience participation was rife, including inviting four devoted fans onto the stage to sing along with them. Their passionate performance of mostly their own material, succeeded in whipping up the crowd for the following bands.

Menacer closely followed suit with their mix of prog and nü-metal styles. Their clean vocals and hard hitting bass left fans literally screaming for more.

Previous southwest youthfest headliners.

Supergene continued the night with a departure from the rest of the night’s heavy metal with their Muse-esque sound. They put in another top notch show, extending to a fan-favourite rendition of ‘Feeling Good’ to finish up their set.

Persona B brought the night to close with a fun loving set completely featuring their own up beat material that appealed to the entire audience. Their kilted front man succeeded in conveying the bands energy to the crowd, ending the show on a massive, musical high.

Overall, the show was a rousing success and a big thank you is owed to all the bands and everyone who attended, thank you all and we hope to see you at the youthfest in September.

!!!HAVERFORDWEST ENTERPRISE FAIR!!!

The enterprise fair in Haverfordwest brought about more money towards the festival, with committee members manning a coconut shy, tombola, raffle and badge making stalls. By far, the most popular stall was the stocks, in which vicious criminals including Jack, Jimmy and Jake were punished for their ‘crimes’ by passers by with wet sponges. The day was a huge success and enjoyed by all who took part and dropped by, especially Jimmy:

I don't know how many of you guys read the newspapers but you may have seen a mention on the Festival winning a National......... Yes that is correct, a NATIONAL Award!! So a big thanks to committee members of the past and present for making it happen! Well done guys your hard work deserved the award!

The festival is supported by pembrokeshire youth service and it is one of the main aims to provide a safe and enjoyable enviroment for everyone. Allthough we cannot be responsable for each individual young person we have a large team of youth workers on site at all times to oversee the event. Their is also full security on all entrances to ensure no alcohol is brought on site. There is a secure bar on site which has a no i.d. no entry policy. The event runs from midday until midnight is attended by people of all ages and families and is an excellent place for young people to experience a great festival atmosphere in a safe way.
